LET YOUR LIP DO THE TALKING
The Red Lip is a statement. It is important to keep the rest of our makeup subtle especially the eyes (they both fight for attention). This is the time to surrender to the lip..lol. So go for a neutral eye and let the lip speak.
FLY WITH YOUR WINGED LINER
To get that classy look that makes you feel like Marilyn Monroe, the winged liner is a sure bet. Pair your red lip with the winged liner; a super duo.
GO BOLD IN THE NIGHT SKY
Danger plays at night, and its colour is Red. The Red Lip is a power suit and it makes us feel confident, brave, and bold. Wearing the red lip at night exudes this aura of glamour, beauty, and class. And for my ‘femme fatale’ ladies, it’s your slay signature.
THE OMBRE RED
This one makes me remember the song ‘Kiss from a Rose’ by Seal. Ombre means having two different colours that are monochromatic. To achieve this look, use a black/brown lip liner to outline your lip, and then trace over this line with a deep coloured lipstick (wine or a red shade deeper than the one you’d want to fill the lip). Finally, fill with a red lipstick a little lighter. Blend to create a smooth transition. You can skip the wine lipstick if you are using a deep shade of red.
GLOSS IT UP
For a more pronounced and dramatic look, you could use a red lip gloss or dab a bit of your fave transparent lip gloss on top of the already filled lip.
MATCHING OUTFIT
Now there are some clothing pieces you can always rock with the red lip and they never go out of trend. To mention a few;
The red lip with black: this is a go-to look anytime any day. Whether you’re going to an industry event or just hanging out with friends, it never goes outta style.
The red lip with white: this looks rocks in the daytime. Works well for an office look with a crisp white shirt; never goes wrong.
The red lip and nude: this is more like a combo of subtleness and class especially for a light-skinned person.
The red lip with grey: using grey as the primary colour for your clothing looks unique and modern when worn with the red lip
Polka dots: thinking of the 90s, this combo is still awesome.
With denim: whether with a denim jacket or denim pants, it works well with the red lip.
So then, let’s step out in style!
